The Big Squeeze Ceilidh Band formed back in 1998 when Kenny Johnstone, Kevin Gardiner and Andrew Barrie (former drummer) got together for a tune. The three were later joined by Kenny's brother Steven.
Through word of mouth alone (absolutely no advertising), the band soon became incredibly busy - playing most weekends. They have been doing so ever since at a wide variety of functions.
The Big Squeeze play all over the country and name one of their favourite performace spots as the Isle of Arran. Without doubt, their most famous outings have been two successful broadcasts on BBC Scotlands “Take the Floor” programme.
In early 2005, singer Lorna joined the band meaning the Big Squeeze could now play a wide variety of music - from Ceilidh & Traditional Scottish to Popular music to suit all tastes and styles! All played live in the unique Big Squeeze style!
The Big Squeeze play at weddings, parties, ceilidhs and fundraisers - in fact any event at all involving any age group and with a very competent speaker to keep everyone entertained as well as talk through dances if required to keep the night running smoothly.
